Curriculum

Trinity Sixth Form has a long established reputation for academic excellence and is rated as Good by Ofsted. Our most recent inspection praised the ambition we have for our students and we have some of the best A Level examination results in the Doncaster and South Yorkshire area.

Most of our students study a combination of three subjects from a wide range of choices. In addition to a very strong A Level course offer we also provide an excellent suite of Applied General courses. These subjects are often preferred by students who enjoy coursework and assessment throughout the course rather than examinations at the end of Year 13. Many students study a combination of A Level and Applied General courses and we will also work with you to build the right study programme to meet your individual needs and onward plans. We know the course combinations that work well, and we ensure we have a clear end goal in sign from the outset of your time with us. We also run a Level 2 work skills course which is popular amongst students who need extra support in preparing for employment whilst re-sitting GCSE English and Mathematics.

Parents and carers like Trinity Sixth Form because of the standards we uphold and students benefit from the routine and professional environment. Each curriculum area runs monthly assessments and tracks the progress students make throughout the year. Students are expected to work hard in preparation for these assessments and our annual rehearsal examinations. Good progress is rewarded and students who need support have access to a range of interventions.

In addition to taught lessons all Sixth Form students also benefit from access to a range of non-qualification activities including enrichment, the EPQ, Duke of Edinburgh and weekly personal development sessions where we cover important topics like safeguarding, mental health and road safety alongside a fantastic programme of careers support.
