Trinity Sixth Form Students Shine Again
It was another day of celebration for A Level students at Trinity Academy in Thorne as this years crop of Year 13 students picked up their examination results. Overall grades have remained impressively high continuing the trend of improvement over time. The average grade at A level is a C, and in vocational qualifications is a distinction with especially impressive performances in Technology, Health and Sport.
There were a significant number of particularly impressive student performances including from Maisie Hinchliffe (2 x A*); Sophia Dennis (3 x Dn*) and Maja Swedziol (3 x A). The top performing students in terms of progress were Max Smith, Scarlett Marshall and Chelsea-Lea Walker.
The proportion of students progressing to university was again above national averages with 69% of Year 13 students making the move to a wide range of universities across the country. It was also great to see an increasing proportion of students progressing to high quality apprenticeships.
Director of Sixth Form, Paul Flint said, “This has been a remarkable year group for many reasons. Their achievements are even more impressive given that they too, have suffered from a significant amount of disruption to their learning due to COVID-19. It is pleasing to see so many of them progressing to their first-choice destinations. This speaks volumes about the high standards that we hold them to here at Trinity Sixth Form. I am immensely proud of each of them, and it has been a pleasure to work with them".
